EDM setup
Use this mode for EDM paths that do not need one uninterrupted continuous contour. It is useful for separated cuts, simple electrodes, or operations where each selected curve can be handled as its own machining path.
Without tool_center:
- Use this when the selected geometry already represents the machine path you want.
- Select the EDM curves or edges.
- Set feed, depth / Z behavior, safe moves, and any machine-specific start/end commands.
- Preview the G-code before sending.
- The path follows the selected geometry directly.
With tool_center:
- Use this when the electrode, wire, or tool reference point must be offset from the selected geometry.
- Define tool_center at the physical EDM active point: electrode center, wire center, or the point your controller treats as the machining point.
- Regenerate the path after defining or moving tool_center.
- Use this when fixture offsets or tool-holder geometry would otherwise shift the cut.
If the EDM process must stay energized along one connected contour, use EDM continuous cut setup instead.
